ith a poet's heart and the experiences of a lifetime, Jim Kremidas weaves stories in songs that will make you laugh, dance and ponder as he takes you through the journey of life. His soulful baritone is the cherry on top of this musical cake layered thick with the sweet sounds of his acoustic and electric guitars, pedal steel and mandolin.

Interlaced throughout the music and liner notes of "Mid-life Crisis" is a puzzle leading to a hidden treasure representative of what we all search for in life.  Something not easy to find, but well worth the challenge. Watch this site for additional clues.

Jim's debut CD, "Mid-life Crisis," is an honest look at the stages of life.  Kremidas is not afraid to face the reality of what so many people go through as they progress from youthful bravado to wondering where half their hair went. His smooth baritone and keen insight will guide you through the ups and down of love found, love lost and found again. His songs will have you up on your feet dancing through humor filled moments of swing and country laced rock'n'roll and bring it all back down to devastatingly beautiful ballads that will have you hanging on his every note and lyrics. Although "Mid-life Crisis" resounds loudly in the ears of baby-boomers, his music appeals to a broad spectrum of listeners. A master of the guitar, dobro, steel guitar and mandolin, Jim's songs never let you down with their tasteful showcase of his exceptional abilities.

Born in California, but raised all over the East Coast as the son of a Navy family, Jim spent his high school years in Chicago and college in Kalamazoo, Mi. Jim is a regular on the Indianapolis music scene and has been seen as a sideman in a number of local offerings such as the Tonepigs,Jam Sammich and Lab3. He went on to form his own band, Kremidas (check out the "Band Bio" tab to the left on this page) which played throughout Indiana.
Currently, he is playing pedal steel with Ann McWilliams Band, Amy Lashley, Cory Hill and an excellent original band, Mysteries Bloom. Look at the links to these artists on the "Tour dates" page. Jim started his music career back in junior high school with a drummer who later went on to play for Bruce Hornsby. In college he played with the future steel guitarist for Blueground Undergrass who inspired Jim to play steel himself. He has played all over the Midwest in a variety of folk, rock, country and ragtime bands and has opened for a number of notable artist such as Hank Williams Jr. and Conway Twitty.

Jim's musical prowess extends far beyond the Indianapolis club scene as he won two Emmy's for music he performed for two documentaries that appeared on PBS.
